Built for Safety. Every detail of our Rubex electric powered stairlift is designed with your safety in mind. We build safety sensors into the footrest, include a locking mechanism in the seat belt, and give the motor instant reversing capability. With automatic limits at each end of the track, standard mechanical and electrical slack cable safety devices, and a fail-safe mechanism that prevents operation until the seat is in the correct position, this stairlift is one of the safest on the market today. It is ETL listed and meets ASME A17.1 and A18 safety standards for public and private use. We also include call stations for both top and bottom landings, which can be mounted to the wall or to the floor. Read more about AmeriGlide stair lift safety standards.

Easy "Homeowner" Installation. Unbelievably, the AmeriGlide Rubex electric powered stair lift simply plugs into the nearest outlet. No special wiring is needed! You can install it on either the right-hand or left-hand side of your staircase; you can even switch it from side to side without any additional parts.

Sleek Design Compliments Any Decor. The AmeriGlide Rubex electric powered stair lift is available in an attractive almond finish with your choice of vinyl seat color. When not in use, you can easily fold up the padded seat and flip up the footrest and your stair lift only takes up 14 inches of space. It's so compact, other people in your household always have full use of the stairs.

A Little About Myself

Aging Baby Boomer

Pros

The stair glide has helped immensely. I am scheduled to have a knee replacement soon and my "good" knee was recently injured making stairs very difficult. With the stair glide, I don't have to worry about falling or being confined to one floor of my home.

Cons

I really can't think of a con unless it would be that in this day of instant everything it does take 25 seconds to go from one floor to the next!

Service & Delivery

Great. I was told that the glide would be shipped within 2 weeks and it came in about 4 days.
Stair glide is great! Easy to measure, and took just a little over an hour to install. Fantastic! Now my friends who were unable to go to my basement can now go and enjoy with no worry of falling.

A Little About Myself

Beverly Heritage Center is a combination History Museum and Preservation/Civil War library.

Pros

The ease of installation was just great. After watching the videos we had the chair up and running in about 45 min.

Cons

Thank you for such a nice product we will let everyone who asks where we got this unit from. Now everyone can access our research library with no problems.

retired

Pros

So far the stair lift is working very good. My wife is the one using it because she broke her shoulder and required surgery.

Cons

The hand control is on the right arm rest. The shoulder my wife is the right one. She can't reach the control with the left hand, so I have to control the unit myself every time she goes up or down the stairs.

Service & Delivery

great
Please send me a copy of the receipt, ASAP, so I can claim it on my income tax to IRS.

A Little About Myself

Old School

Pros

No small flimsy parts. Great design.

Cons

Instruction booklet should have better overview at beginning.

Service & Delivery

On time and well packaged
A pleasant surprise compared to most items similarly purchased today. Straightforward, well thought-out and engineered. Installation was not difficult for me and my son. Eighty -eight year old mother-in-law loves it. Simple, quiet operation. Had great support from the company. All questions answered honestly and completely. Well worth the price. Did I say solid?

Simple strong design

A Little About Myself

Civil engineer, computer tech, handyman

Pros

I like the relatively simple, yet strong design. It is basically an electric cable winch mounted on wheels in a track with a seat on top. It is easy to install and setup. The install video on the Web site is very helpful. I like the full AC option as there are no batteries to mess with.

Cons

I had to adjust the power cord to get the chair to travel as low as possible at the bottom end to meet my daughter's special needs. This need is probably very rare for most installs.

Service & Delivery

Easy to order. Delivered promptly and completely.
I ordered one stair lift to see how it would work. Then I ordered two more to take care of the other half of split level stairs and an inside stairway to the garage level. Highly recommend renting a professional grade hammer drill to drill holes in concrete! Makes that job fast and easy. I used Tapcon concrete screws.

A Little About Myself

DIY kind of guy

Pros

The components appear to be very well built and sturdy. Ordering was a breeze, and everything arrived exactly as expected. It took about 3 hours start to finish, but probably could have done it in less time; I like to double & triple check everything I do.

Cons

None that I can really think of.

Service & Delivery

As expected
Very good product for the price. I was expecting to pay double the amount that I did, and I certainly didn't figure to be able to install it myself. Happily, I was wrong on both counts.
