The AmeriGlide Rave is an ultra-compact stair lift designed to make restoring accessibility to your multi-level home as convenient and easy as possible! Homeowners with exceptionally narrow stair cases will love the ultra-thin design of this stair lift. The lift unit takes up only slightly more than 11 inches when folded, allowing able-bodied housemates and guests optimal access to the stairs. The AmeriGlide Rave is built for durability, with a tough all-metal case construction that withstands normal wear-and-tear far better than other comparable stair lift brands. The powerful worm-rack system can safely transport up to 350 pounds of user weight, and an adjustable-height padded seat with durable folding arms ensures that you will remain comfortable during transit - the seat measures in at 19 inches wide and 14 inches deep.

The AmeriGlide Rave differs from many of our competitors' stair lift units in that the track attaches to the stairs themselves rather than the wall, and every point of contact uses a single bracket, making installation easier on homeowners and handymen. The Rave is compatible with any standard household power outlet, and the battery that powers the unit charges at the top or bottom of the track, providing a reserve of power that keeps your stair lift going even in the event of a power outage. An arm-mounted operation switch is included as a standard feature, along with AmeriGlide's standard array of safety switches that prevent the lift from operating if an obstruction blocks your path. The seat swivels at the top, away from the steps, so the rider can safely exit or enter the stair lift.

Best of all, the AmeriGlide Rave is a product of American ingenuity and workmanship, and every unit is manufactured right here in the United States of America!

Stair lift users need a unit that is safe, comfortable, reliable, and easy to install. The AmeriGlide Rave satisfies all of your needs. To order, contact our mobility specialists today!

A Little About Myself

Female of 95 years

Pros

Easy to install, easy to use, quite, creates a much safer assent and descent on the stairs.

Cons

Be nice if the chair would rotate in both directions, to help with mounting at the top of the stairs, and to help un-mount at the bottom of the stairs. You must disembark facing up the stairs, then rotate and hold on to stairs and wall to turn and finish by having to navigate two to three steps to the bottom.

Service & Delivery

Speedy
Thank you, with winter on us, my mother doesn't have to trek around the house outside with her walker. She is very tired when she has to scuffle in both directions.

This is a great stair lift. As an architect with 35 years experience, I completely agree with Ameriglide's position that these stair lifts should remain a DIY installation. They are well-engineered for ease of installation and have built-in safeguards to prevent any malfunction. I looked at other brands, but they required permits and professional installation.....both time consuming and costly (over twice as much money!). In my profession, I've witnessed the growth of entitlements, under the guise of consumer safety, for many years. Too often, these only serve to fuel the growth of building department bureaucracy (and income stream), with little real gain for the public. Ameriglide, keep up the good fight to preserve affordability and accessibility for all Americans.

Good product / Lousy Instructions

A Little About Myself

Mid Seventies DIY

Pros

Good quality construction. Good appearance. Smooth operation. Telephone help ( You will need it) Great warranty.

Cons

Horrible Installation Instructions. Be sure to read the return information BEFORE you buy.

Service & Delivery

Excellent. Received in a few days, Well packed.
I purchased this unit for my wife. With good instructions, it would have been pretty easy to install. This has been a chief complaint in the reviews. I purchased this unit 6 months ago and still the manual is showing the old Rack & Pinion gears and says you must oil them. The instructions are vague and lacking. This is an excellent product. Why not provide an excellent Installation Manual to go with it? Having said all this, I plan to purchase another one. Thankfully I will know how to install it.

What A Deal!

A Little About Myself

Not as young as I use to be.

Pros

The RAVE works as well as the literature described. You get a lot more than you pay for.

Cons

Self-installation is not as easy as the manual and video make it seem.

Service & Delivery

The four boxes arrived when expected. FedEx tracking site kept me up to date as the shipment went from Lake Winnabago to Kansas City to Atlanta, to Athens, GA. No shipping damage problems.
Being a 30 year old trapped inside a 75 year old body, I found the parts, rails, chassis and chair much heavier than expected. It was very difficult for me to self-install. It took three days with several bumps in the road causing me to disassemble and reassemble. If I had it to do over again, I would pay the extra money for installation. Do not use the download manual version from the AmeriGlide site! Use the installation manual included in the shipment. Here's the good news. AmeriGlide has Harmar Summit, LLC of Lake Winnabago, MO build the Rave for them. What you're really purchasing is a $4K Harmar Pinnacle SL600 worm and gear system. It's far superior to the Bruno Elite and the heavy duty Acorn. You'll find an installation video posted on YouTube. Go to the site and search for "Harmar Pinnacle Stair Lifts - Installation Stairlift." This is very helpful, but makes it look easier than it is to self-install.

The Ameriglide Company makes the difference
Jun 6, 2013 6:56 PM

A Little About Myself

It's all in the details for me.

Pros

We loved being able to do it ourselves. Everyone we talked to at Ameriglide was very helpful during the whole process. If I e-mailed a question, I received an answer within minutes.

Cons

The difference in the download version of the instructions vs the instructions that came with the products was different, but we talked to someone at the company and they set us straight. A broken down labeled schematic of the parts would have been very helpful.

Service & Delivery

Fantastic service and delivered shortly after we ordered it.
I had a great experience with the whole process. Somewhere in the instructions it would be nice to know there is a fudge factor in the measurements. Although, we were told by someone at the company we were over thinking it, which is good to know. Rocket science it is not.
